In going through old files, I discovered this design by Matt Schramm, who continues to make me laugh more than a decade later. Apparently my palavering on the wonders of radial symmetry in nature and machinery didn't have the desired effect. Uh, good "work" Matt!Sunday, December 12, 2010
Wheel Rim Design by Matt Schramm
I'm always looking for ideas on new design projects that will be meaningful and interesting. In 1998 I came up with the idea of designing a wheel rim for a sports car, and I provided kids with printed blank outlines to sketch on, as shown. After narrowing their ideas to a few of the best ones, they used AutoCAD to draw them accurately.
