Atomic Greetings' Augmented Reality Helps to Launch New Bicycle Line

Philadelphia, September 20 -- A little over a year ago, Tony Cruz, professional cycling racer and Shane Fedon, engineer wunderkind decided to become partners and create a new line of no-compromises bikes. Bikes that win! On Saturday, September 18th, the partnership called CRUZ Industries was officially launched to the world at Los Angeles' historic Kim Sing Theatre (owned by Willard Ford, Harrison Ford's son and a longtime friend of Tony.)

Danielle Leah, Danielle Rae of The Umbrella Girls

The launch party showcased the eight model Arenberg line of CRUZ Industries road bikes whose features were expertly described by women from The Umbrella Girlsmodeling agency and included activities such as interactive bike races on trainer stands. The high point of the night for guests was the chance to win the top of the line Arenberg CSL 1 valued at $8,500. This raffle had to be as exciting and high-tech as the new bikes themselves and so Shane Fedon and his team decided to use augmented reality to get the job done. To create the raffle, Shane turned to Atomic Greetings, makers of personal and individualized augmented reality experiences.

CRUZ Industries raffle card

Atomic Greetings developed the raffle card using its patent-pending EVX (Enhanced Vision Xperience) augmented reality system. The card's front showcases the Arenberg CSL 1 while the interior details the specifications for the various bikes in the line.

As the guests, which included many members of the bicycle industry press, enjoyed the party, the Umbrella Girls directed them to select one of the raffle cards. The provided computers allowed the guests to scan their card with the computer's webcam and watch a video attached to the card on the computer screen of Tony telling them if they won the bike. The reaction? Many people exclaimed "so cool" and "this is crazy awesome." Of course the winner of the bike was even more excited when he saw Tony tell him that he was now the owner of the prized Arenberg CSL 1.

Tony and Shane are pleased with the launch party's great success and look forward to the future of CRUZ Industries bikes that will be hitting the streets and tracks everywhere.
